Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Solymar during my culinary exploration of the region. This charming hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the beach, making it ideal for those inclined toward seaside relaxation. The room was simple yet functional, featuring a comfortable double bed and a mini fridge—excellent for storing local delicacies from nearby eateries like Marisqueria Huelin, only a stroll away. Each morning, I savored the complimentary breakfast, which showcased the region's best ingredients, offering tastes of local produce and delightful pastries. While the hotel itself is a tranquil retreat, the bustling local market just two minutes away presented an opportunity to engage with the culinary scene firsthand. After a day of exploration, the restaurant’s inviting ambiance was a fine way to unwind, although my highlights were dining at Merendero Casa Jose and experimenting with the rich flavors at La Guerta. Solymar is a valuable base for food enthusiasts yearning to immerse themselves in the local gastronomy while enjoying the comfort of attentive service.
